About STUDIOX

In January 2020 Studio X first opened its doors after many exciting months of getting the space ready. So much heart and soul went into the creation of the studio and it was an incredible day to see it all come to life with dancers!

The Studio is based in Solas Tower Estate, Bray, and is a home to our dance school Urban X who have been located in other venues over the years, mainly Purelight Studio, and Bray Bowl. We are delighted to have our very own space now!

There are a range of dance classes available for all ages, from young kids to older adults. The space will also incorporate yoga classes, fitness classes and will be available for birthday parties, photo /video shooting, or private rental.

About URBANX

Urban X was founded by Rachel who wanted to share her passion for dance with the youth of today. Her love for dance developed into a big love for teaching. She loves having the opportunity to encourage, motivate, inspire, challenge, and meet so many incredible people, who in-turn inspire and motivate her too.

The aim of Urban X goes beyond dance, it also aims to provide a platform for others to express themselves, learn more about themselves, build confidence and to make special friendships. The bond between everyone grows stronger each year, and it is this connection that is the heart of Urban X.

The dance school perform each year in the Mermaid Theatre for our end of year showcase "Urban Xpressions", which is something we always look forward to. Each class get to showcase all their hard work and favourite dances of the year.

We also take part in the St. Patrick's Day parade in Bray, which includes dancing for the judges at the Bray Seafront. We have been so lucky and are so grateful to have been awarded for 5 consecutive years for our performance.

About RACHEL

Rachel has over 25 years dance experience, starting off with Irish Dancing at a very young age, which she continued and competed in for many years. She moved on to some modern, tap and jazz for a short time until she started hip hop as a teenager and completely fell in love with it. She competed at Ireland's top competitions with her dance school at the time, Fresh N Funky. Her passion grew and grew over the years, and is still growing.

She has danced with many dance crews in Ireland since, and has performed and competed with these crews around the world at the World Hip Hop Championships in Las Vegas, World Of Dance in Holland, Soar Dance Championships in Manchester, Soar Dance Championships in Wales, and many competitions and events in Ireland.

Rachel has trained with top choreographers in the world both in Ireland and overseas. She travels to California most years to further her dance training in many Los Angeles and San Diego dance studios, also training with well known dance crews in both cities. In 2017 after being cast through an audition process, she performed in Culture Shock Dance Centre's hip hop version of the Nutcracker. There were five shows and were held in the Spreckels theatre on Broadway, San Diego, which was such a memorable experience for her.

Although Rachel knew she always wanted to dance, she also wanted to go to college and so she completed an honours degree course in Business Studies and Arts Management, which has helped her greatly get to where she is today. She began teaching dance in the Bray area and has never looked back. She always loved kids, so getting to share her love for dance with so many children, and teens, is a dream to her.

Dance has not only shaped Rachel's life but has also shaped her into the person she is today. There is so much more to dance than just the steps and she hopes to pass this on to all her dancers.
